Captured in The Metro. “A wildlife photographer was outdone by his wife, who captured this startling photo of an owl using his camera lens as a perch. Keith Kirk, 64, had to stay very still when the large European eagle owl landed as he peered through his viewfinder. Fortunately, his wife Caroline (also pictured), 60, was ‘watching the birdie’ and caught the moment in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway. ‘Everybody who’s seen that photo really likes it, and she always jokes with me that she was the one who took it,’ said retired wildlife ranger Mr Kirk.”
