With 2,252 votes cast over three days of match ups, eight cracking campaigns have been whittled down to one stand out winner
With the World Cup in full swing in Qatar, this year’s ‘ad of the year’ Christmas competition took on a tournament twist. We took the eight most popular winners from our ‘ad of the month’ votes and pitted them against each other over three days of voting. Eight quarter-finalists on Monday became only two finalists on Wednesday, and now our champion of champions can finally be revealed.
A huge congratulations to Greggs for being named ad of the year 2022! Booked and planned by Carat, this print and digital campaign helped spread cheer in October, encouraging readers to sign up for its app by giving away free bakes and hot drinks with every download.
More congratulations go to Butterkist and Starcom for coming in second place with its iconic court room sketch appearing alongside coverage of the Wagatha Christie trial, with ads from Heinz and Frontline19 making worthy semi-finalists. Thanks to everyone who took part in our tournament and kept the tension high right up until the final.
