Evening Standard unveils its Progress 1000

Amelia Gentleman, Karen Blackett, Geordie Greig and Amol Rajan are among those from the media world celebrated. 

The list, now in its 12th year, selects the most influential Londoners whose contributions to the city are felt most across the lives of those living and working in the capital. The list celebrates in particular the Changemakers – the leaders of this year's Progress 1000 that work to make London such an exciting and diverse city. This includes musician Stormzy, journalist and activist Caroline Criado-Perez, Windrush campaigner Patrick Vernon, LGBT editor at Buzzfeed Patrick Strudwick and Labour MP for Walthamstow Stella Creasy.

Those from the media world featured on the list include: The Guardian's reporter Amelia Gentleman, the Daily Mail's editor Geordie Greig, Observer journalist Carole Cadwalladr, the BBC's Amol Rajan, Esther Webber from The Times' Red Box, GroupM's Tom George and WPP's Karen Blackett.
