Newsworks insight director Denise Turner joined a diverse panel of industry insiders to discuss the disruption of media.
Digital transformation in the media industry has brought about change in more ways than many could have imagined.
Answering everything from what the biggest drivers of disruption are to what the future will look like, Newsworks’ Denise Turner joined Guardian Media Group’s incoming chief commercial & customer officer Paul Kanareck, director at Softwire Zoe Cunningham and Channel 5 digital project delivery manager Peter Frost.
A key subject the panel touched upon was the impact digital transformation has on the media industry. Turner talked about content, rather than devices being at the heart of digital transformation as it’s human behaviour and choices that really drives actions.
She used the increase in digital readership over the past years as an example of how human behaviour of wanting news in a way that is convenient has resulted in news brands diversifying their channel strategies to provide news across multiple platforms in a timely fashion.
The panel was hosted by Byte the Book together with Softwire.
