All in, all together news and opinion

10 questions with…Jo Allan

Every week, we talk to a member of Team Nation to find out how they are bringing this “All in, all together” ad campaign to life. This week 10 questions with… meets Newsworks' Jo Allan.

1. To me, the rainbow symbolises

Happiness, hope and unity.

2. What is your role at Team Nation?

I have been involved in the campaign from day one together with the amazing and very committed publisher CROs. At that stage our focus was to get the first cover wrap out.

Once Team Nation was recruited and put in place, my role changed. I am still part of the core team but focus more on creative, together with a team of very talented creatives, to produce assets for the cover wraps and sponsored content briefs.

3. Have you ever worked on an advertising campaign of this scale before?

Client-side I have worked on several multi-media campaigns and at an agency, I have led similar campaigns across multiple markets.

I have however never worked on a cross-industry campaign, especially not one of this scale or with such a quick turnaround.

4. What is it like working on a cross-industry team?

It has been incredible to see how the team have come together. It is testimony to all those who are part of Team Nation - they are super committed, and all have a can-do attitude, you really wouldn’t know that they are from different publishers.

5. What has been the highlight so far?

Without a doubt, getting the first cover wrap out of the door and seeing a rainbow of colours on the newsstands of my local shop. Designed, approved and distributed in record time.

6. And any challenges you can share?

Apart from the vast amount of emails and the fast pace, it has honestly gone really smoothly. The team have taken everything in their stride and have just got on with it.

Although I have to say I have never worked in a team with so many people called Jo. There are three of us in the core team and it can get very confusing.

7. Think of three words that come to mind when you think of the campaign?

Fun, dynamic and teamwork.

8. What have you learnt?

With the right people, anything is possible.

9. What can we expect to see next?

Our work is by no means finished as there is a lot more of this campaign to come. It is important that we keep playing a crucial role in getting the messages out there and ensuring that readers have all of the information they need in uncertain times.

10. Finish this sentence…

All in, all together to deliver this vital campaign, which is truly an industry first.
