NRS PADD: 22.9m adults read newsbrands on a daily basis

NRS PADD has released its first dataset using comScore, for the period of January 2012 to December 2012 for the print data and November 2012 for the comScore website data.

  • New data shows 22.9 million adults (45%) are reading newsbrands on a daily basis; 36.1 million a week (71%) and 42 million (83%) a month
  • Some titles are doubling their reach with online readership, including The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and The Independent
  • The Daily Mail brand has the biggest reach with over 20 million print and online readers, closely followed by The Sun
  • This dataset will allow a 2012 comparison point for 2013 subsequent quarterly releases
  • Overall, an even stronger story for newsbrands using comScore data

"This first NRS PADD release, fusing NRS Print Jan-Dec 2012 data with comScore November 2012 website data, delivers some very significant overall brand net reach figures for the newsbrands and shows the different ways that people are now accessing news media in the UK," said Alison Finch, director of insight & clients at NRS.
