ESI Media wins at The Drum UK Event Awards

ESI Live's Young Progress Makers scoops two accolades at The Drum Event Awards 2017.

Young Progress Makers, an interactive event that launched in January to inspire and lead London's young people, picked up the New Event of the Year and the Chairman's Award at the ceremony.

The coveted Chairman's Award was chosen by Damian Clarke, managing director at Undercurrent, from all of this year's nominees.

"This was a project that has put its core audience at its heart, shows great diversity and is able to focus on social mobility as a key driver to its success," Clarke said.

The event saw 550 people packed into Camden's Roundhouse and included live performances, speed mentoring, a competition for London's best new business from an under-25 entrepreneur, plus a debate and Q&As with some of London's best minds.

Speaking to Digiday UK, Jon O’Donnell, managing director of ESI Media, said: "Events work when it fits into the publisher's key interest areas, passion points and depth of knowledge."

Over the next year, ESI Media plans to launch two more consumer-facing events and grow its dedicated event team to up to 20 people.
