Fabulous’ appeal to give toiletries to NHS heroes reaches £1m of donations from top beauty brands

In just one month, more than 20,000 packages have been sent.

Last month, The Sun’s magazine Fabulous launched a care package initiative.

Since then, Fabulous and its partners have sent more than 20,000 packages to heroes from the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Wight.

An incredible 200,000 items have been donated by beauty brands including Dove, Burt’s Bees and Elizabeth Arden, as more than 60 companies have given tens of thousands of much-needed toiletries to frontline workers.

The campaign launched alongside We C U 2020, a local initiative started by Fabulous’s former Beauty Editor, Lauren Ezekiel.

Top brands including Dove, Burt’s Bees and Elizabeth Arden have sent in about 200,000 items including 30,000 body moisturisers, 24,000 lip balms and 11,000 hand creams.

Fabulous readers and healthcare workers requested goody bags, sending in hundreds of moving emails, along with pictures of their bruised and dry skin.

Helpforce, a charity supporting volunteering in the NHS has also been identifying hospital trusts most in need and UPS is dispatching the parcels to those on the frontline.

More than 20,000 packages have been delivered to heroes from the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Wight.

Rachel Shields, Assistant Editor, The Sun (Fabulous) said: “We asked and generous beauty brands offered up their goodies in spades. I can only thank you for helping us to treat our NHS staff working in such difficult conditions.”
