Alessandra Bellini to chair the Newsworks Planning Awards 2018

Now open for entries, the Newsworks Planning Awards celebrate and promote media agencies’ innovative and creative planning in newsbrands.

Tesco's chief customer officer Alessandra Bellini will lead the 2018 jury, which includes Virgin Holidays' Hai Bei Chen, Carat's Jordi Connor, British Gas' Phil Livingstone, Goodstuff's Laura Moorcraft and Vizeum's Charlie Ebdy.

"Building real and lasting relationships with consumers has never been more important for brands. In our fragmented, fast-paced world, people rely on strong brands to navigate what they buy, what they read and where they go", Bellini said. "I'll be looking out for inspiring examples of how planners have harnessed newsbrands’ environment for maximum impact, delivering tangible results back to their clients. Role on judging day!"

New for 2018 and to mark PAMCo's launch year, a one-off award – 'Planning with PAMCo' – recognises best use of the readership data by media agencies and national newsbrands' sales teams.

Vanessa Clifford, CEO of Newsworks, said: "The Newsworks Planning Awards set out to reward the most innovative and effective newsbrand campaigns from the past year, and every year the quality of the work we receive reaches new heights. The winning entries will demonstrate strategic thinking, clear results and display a level of creativity which capitalises on newsbrands’ quality context and unique storytelling ability."

 The deadline for entries is 28 September 2018. A party to celebrate the winners will take place on the evening of 29 November 2018 at the Century Club, London.
