ESI Media hires Dan Locke

Dan Locke of CBS Outdoor has been hired by ESI media, the commercial department of the London Evening Standard and The Independent.

The appointment has been made as part of a restructure ahead of ESI's London Live TV launch, with Locke taking on the role of agency group director in a few months time.

Locke, who won Outdoor Sales Team of the Year in the 2012 Campaign Media Awards, has been in his current role as head of agency sales at CBS Outdoor for the past eight years, having joined from Emap Advertising in 2005.

Locke will work alongside ESI's former director of commercial strategy, Matt Batchelor. They will each head up a new multi-platform agency unit and will report to Simon Poole, who will join as group sales director in September. The two teams will replace the original ESI Media Team as part of the reshuffle, which will take effect by mid-September.

In an attempt to make ESI more focused on agencies rather than products, each team will be given different agencies to supervise. Locke's team will be in charge of handling agency development, growth and partnerships across all platforms.

Speaking on the appointment, Jon O'Donnell, group commercial director at ESI Media, said: "We are about to enter a hugely exciting period as we reshape our business to facilitate stronger agency and client partnerships.

"Having incredibly talented people like Dan join us is instrumental in us realising our ambitions."
