Heinz uses ad to respond to reader’s text

The brand took out an ad in today’s Metro, responding to a text asking what salad cream can be eaten with.

Salad cream enthusiast Graham from Kent yesterday sent the Metro a text, published in the ‘Send us your text’ column, querying what he could eat with salad cream other than “celery, lettuce, tomato etc”, which he describes as “quite vile”.

The cry for help was answered this morning via a Heinz ad in the newspaper, opposite the column, detailing the array of foodstuffs which are suited to salad cream.

Suggestions include eating with Scotch eggs, fish fingers, ploughman’s sandwiches, hamburgers and salami sandwiches.

The ad, which was created by AMV BBDO and planned through Vizeum, was featured both in the print version of the paper and the tablet edition.
