18-24 year olds have stronger mobile ad recall

38.1% of 18-24 year old smartphone users in Britain can recall mobile ads, according to comScore data from January to March 2013.

This is over 10% higher than the mobile ad recall rate for the general population of smartphone users, which stands at 26.5%.

In tandem with this, 18-24 year old smartphone users also click on more social media site ads (26.7% compared with 16.5% for the general population of smartphone users) and 13.8% scanned a QR/barcode with a mobile, compared with a standard of 9.5%.

While this data indicates that young people are more responsive to mobile advertising, usage of smartphones is by no means limited to the younger generations. comScore data also reveals that smartphone penetration of the UK has reached 67% and the average amount of Brits in ownership of a smartphone between January to March 2013 was 33.4 million.
