News UK to move to 'baby shard'

All News Corp owned London operations will move to the new premises in London Bridge.

The relocation was announced today by Robert Thomson, the chief executive of News Corp, in an email to staff.

The moving process will begin next year and will be completed by the beginning of 2015, by which point all News Corps' London based businesses, including News UK, Harper Collins and Dow Jones, will for the first time be housed together.

Situated in London Bridge, the new premises are called 'The Place', nicknamed the 'baby shard' as the building stands in the shadow of its larger neighbour.

Robert Thomson said of the move: "This is a tangible example of and significant opportunity for the collaborative culture we seek to foster at the new News Corp. It will allow us to realise our core objectives as a new company - to work more closely and creatively, and leverage our collective resources."
