Lord Coe to guest edit Telegraph's Weekend section

The chairman of the British Olympic Association will edit tomorrow's Weekend section of The Daily Telegraph.

The guest editorship comes a week before the year anniversary of the opening of the 2012 London Olympics.

The issue will feature some of the sporting stars that found themselves in the spotlight during the two week event last summer, including Laura Trott, Mo Farah, Sir Ben Ainslie, Katherine Granger, David Weir and Jonnie Peacock.

Alongside the medal winners the edition will also feature London Mayor Boris Johnson, the head of Olympic ceremonies Stephen Daldry and writer of the opening ceremony, Frank Cottrell Boyce.

However, Lord Coe's contribution to the section won't just be limited to sporting matters, with his writings spanning an array of topics including education, politics, family, travel and interviews with various high-profile people.

Tony Gallagher, editor at of The Daily Telegraph said: "I am delighted Lord Coe is returning to the Daily Telegraph. The London Olympics were rightly regarded as the finest for a generation. His triumphant organisation gives him an authority and breadth of experience which our readers will really enjoy."
