Telegraph Media Group today announces the appointment of Christopher Thorogood to the newly created position of chief digital officer.
Thorogood joins from Global Radio, where he has been director of digital since 2011. Prior to this, he worked at Shine Group, as acting head of digital and Mykindaplace as business development director and managing director.
In this new role, Thorogood will report directly to Murdoch MacLennan, chief executive, and will lead TMG's digital operations to ensure the business realises its full digital potential. He will have responsibility for all of TMG's digital product development as well as overseeing marketing, consumer insight, data analytics, e-commerce and customer experience.
"I am delighted that Christopher will be joining TMG," MacLennan said. "He has had a wide variety of experience in launching and growing digital businesses and will be a welcome addition to TMG's executive management team."
Thorogood added: "TMG has a strong brand and some fantastic digital products. I am hugely looking forward to joining TMG and leading their digital operation to the next stage."
