The Guardian teams up with eBay and MediaCom to help reposition the brand as the key to fuelling passions, encouraging consumers to look for items that feed their interests and hobbies.

Summary:

  • A series of double page spreads and online articles centrally themed around hobbies that many Guardian readers take an interest in
  • A dedicated hub including a sub series with first person accounts from industry leaders on how their hobbies changed their lives; tongue-in-cheek reasons why readers should upgrade their possessions; an insight into the things they should sell or buy and a starter kit gallery with a list of items needed for different hobbies
  • So far the partnership has exceeded all its targets with unique visitors, page views and average dwell time all beating KPIs
  • High levels of engagement has led readers to the eBay site, with CTRs on Traffic Drivers consistently beating the Guardian’s average
